Instagram Live Recap: Sorrell's Lawn Care

In an effort to share some new ideas, highlight some local businesses and give us all a little something to do, I've partnered up with a few home-related Instagrammers to share some things you can do while you're at home!

My third guest, Christina joined in from Sorrell's Lawn Care and Nursery. They're located in Dunn, but provide services and deliveries to every corner of the Triangle! In this unique time, being outside and having a colorful, happy product to show from your productivity means more than ever. She can deliver seeds, plants, mulch and pine straw, flowers and even fruit and vegetable plants. Christina is amazingly resourceful and friendly and maintains relationships with others in the community that allow her to pretty much get anything she doesn't grow. She also graciously offered to provide advice using photos or videos of your lawn in terms of what could grow best in which places.

Two questions for Christina:

Q: What is the most in season right now, what should people be focusing on?

A: Vegetable plants have been extremely popular for people wanting to be more self sufficient. I'm also suggesting milkweed as an option for people, as it attracts butterflies which are a welcome distraction!

Q: If you don't want to travel outside your home, is there anything you can use to naturally kill weeds and prepare your beds?

A: Yes! Vinegar is a great option, and can be used in the following two recipes:

  • 1 Gallon White Vinegar

  • 1 Tablespoon Liquid Dish Soap or Vegetable Oil

  • 1 Cup Salt (only if you don’t want to replant there)

or

  • 1 Cup Powdered Borax

  • 2 Gallons Water

Christina is offering phone, photo and video consultations, delivery, pick up and can help acquire fruit trees, various unique plants and also mulch and pine straw. You can contact her on Facebook, Instagram or by phone (252-286-5358)

Fresh air and sunny projects do the body (and home!) good! Hopefully you can jazz up your curb appeal using these tips this weekend.
